Patient-Focused Care and Support

Dr Richard Baer is a specialist General Physician and a Nephrologist (Kidney Specialist.) Nephrology is the management of kidney disease and Dr Baer can therefore provide specialised renal care. He and his team make it a core focus to provide high quality patient-focused, health care that is based on evidence and research.  Dr Baer knows that you must treat the patient and not just the disease.  An important component of a consultation with Dr Baer will include patient-directed education and information.

As both a Specialist General Physician and Nephrologist, he is committed to working as part of an overall team approach to health care which includes general practitioners and other health professionals. Together, Dr Baer and his team will work to achieve the best outcomes for each patient.

Out-patient Services

Dr Baer consults at the Wesley Medical Centre, Mater Medical Centre and Mater Health Hub Springfield.

In-patient Services

In-patient services for renal conditions, in-patient general medical care and perioperative medical care are provided by Dr Baer the Wesley Hospital Auchenflower. Renal in-patient care is also provided at Mater Private and Public Hospitals at South Brisbane.

Dialysis

Dr Baer provides private dialysis supervision at Mater Private Hospital at South Brisbane, Mater Health Centre at Brookwater and the Wesley Hospital at Auchenflower.

Educational services

In collaboration with Kidney Health Australia, Dr Baer has provided numerous education sessions to health care practitioners around Queensland.  Please get in touch if you would like to know about his next workshop or if you would like to organise an in-house education session.
